MyPostcard is excited to announce that we’re now a member of the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association!
The mission of IGLTA is to provide information and resources for LGBTQ travelers and expand LGBTQ tourism globally by demonstrating its significant social and economic impact.
The IGLTA, founded in 1983, is the world’s leading network of LGBTQ-welcoming tourism businesses and is continuously working on the promotion of equality and safety within LGBTQ tourism worldwide. IGTLA has helped make many exciting things happen and has a big network around the world, which MyPostcard is pleased to now be a part of.
They also hold events and have been improving LGBT travel significantly. MyPostcard is constantly trying to help strengthen the power and impact of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender travel community – be it by joining the IGLTA or through previous projects like sending out solidarity postcards for Berlin’s LGBT-inclusive mosque.
In this particular project, MyPostcard teamed up with the LGBT movement All Out in order to support the mosque, which has been welcoming openly LGBT Muslims to prayer. In another campaign with All Out, MyPostcard enabled people around the world to send solidarity postcards against homophobia to two girls in Morocco. The 16- and 17-year-old girls were reported to the police for kissing in front of one of their mothers and were held on trial.
At MyPostcard, we strongly support the statement in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. Let us stand united!
